Parent/Guardian Request for Signature

By signing and returning the ACPS Signature Form in the ACPS Back to School Forms packet, parent(s)/guardian(s) shall not be deemed to waive, but do expressly reserve, their rights protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia, and shall have the right to express disagreement with the school division’s policies and or decisions. This booklet, required by the law, contains the following:

  • Responsible Computer System Use Policy for Students
  • Compulsory School Attendance Information
  • Standards of Student Conduct
  • Equity and Excellence Policy 
  • Honor Code

Parents/guardians have a duty to assist ACPS schools in enforcing the standards of student conduct and compulsory school attendance. Parents/guardians have a responsibility to understand the Code of Conduct, promote proper student conduct, assist the school with the discipline of the student, and meet with school officials if requested to discuss matters related to discipline and school attendance. The law also requires that parent/guardians sign a statement showing that they know their responsibilities.
